Watched 'Scent of a woman' day before..classss movie..I like Al Pacino and he has given a great performance..
The plot is that a poor student (Chris O'Donnel) witnesses a prank on the campus and is in trouble over that. Meanwhile over the weekend he takes up a job as a caretaker - Al Pacino is retired Army officer who is blind...
Al Pacino is very intimidating and sort of grows over you..but the movie portrays Al Pacino's character very very brilliantly..the emotional ups and downs..the pride he takes in himself..and then both of them become friends..and there is a happy ending..
keeping your eyes open for extended period is no joke..look out for that aspect in Al Pacino's acting..
the overall effect the movie has is good..
and given a chance..(rather take one) watch Al Pacino's 'Scarface' ... what a movie maan! If u have seen 'Vaastav' and liked it..scarface is much more better.. Al Pacino is a cuban..Tony Montana..and the way he talks ..t not as in tomatoes but as somewhere in between t and th :) and then again..he repeats OK and f@#$ million times..
I was speaking like that for a long time..OK?? ;) quit because I feared that I might end up forgetting the real pronounciations..OK??
Don't F@#$ with me..OK??
have a good night ;)

This demands immediate attention..
"In a move reminiscent of Britain’s vain efforts to quell the BSE crisis, Thailand’s cabinet last week invited journalists to watch them tuck in to chicken for lunch. And a poultry industry group displayed similar bravado by promising to pay £14,000 to anyone in Thailand who died after eating chicken. "
read it here..
will anyone try??
Serious consideration should be given ..I can not imagine eating something like this!! Even though they say that eating eggs and cooked chicken does not put humans at risk..i am apprehensive...who knows what the side effects are..
and £14,000 posthumously can not lure me in this !!

It was heartening to see (read to be more precise;) ..its been a long tome since I watched any form of cricket!!!) India win matches..or loose some well fought matches by narrow margin!!
VVS Laxman the great!! I simply can't believe that this guy was left out for the world cup..what a shame..
Laxman is silently proving a point here..I never thought that one Mr. Dinesh Mongia would be favored ahead of VVS..
but shit happens!!
Laxman till date (in this series) has accumulated 381 runs at an average of 127!! Way to go..
I have to make some arrangments for the finals though

I have been reading a book on Indian History..called 'a new history of India' by one Stanley Woolpert, Prof. of History at UCLA.
had a few interesting things to point out..
1. Regarding Ramayana and Mahabharatha..how we can relate it to the Aryan invasion and the eastward shift of the civilization.
2. All the southern muslim kingdoms (vijapoor and hyderabad) were Shiites and the mughals were Sunnis..interesting.. never thought this way..
and the discussion goes on..
Hopefully I can complete it!!

I had to change a look of my blog!!
I was getting irritated with the constant F5's or reloads needed..the commenting is lost..but if u have time..comment again..with commenting system from haloscan..squakbox was for one year only..and then they wanted to make a poor guy poorer..so in any case this had to be done..better late than never!!
so..with all the new look and no sitemeter..here is the new blog..
by the way..
working on blogspot with netscape is far better..IE was troublesome..
Hope that India wins today..i envy anya who everytime India plays a good inings calls up excitedly and starts talking..and I am left with heavy traffic on the servers and it is hard even to keep track of the score :(

Its been a long long time since I last posted..
so many things have hapened..
First of all I completed all the course work and MS related stuff and I am expecting my degree on 1st Feb.
So atlast...I am through!!! Feel sad though..school is always fun..!!!
This was the main reason that I could not post..
then I moved to the sunny phoenix in Arizona..it is just heaven when compared to Buffalo in winter..( the arizonian summer is dreaded by all!!)
My christmas was in Carlsbad (New Mexico) and then onto San Antonio (Texas)..was a great road trip..
Carlsbad is famous for its caverns..and beautiful they were..just too good!!!
Then to 'The Alamo'..glorifying the past!!
I was amazed by the way the Carlsbad caverns are maintained..and the facilities provided..excellent :)
all the formations..stalactites, stalagmites, soda straws, popcorns, flow rocks.. too good
and the hand held audio device for self guided tours is the best thing..
all in all it was fun!
Now ..its time for job search..Shraddha aur Saboori!!
